Before you meet

  • Get to know someone through messages first, and take a phone or video call before agreeing to meet in person.
  • Be wary of anyone who asks for money, gift cards or financial details, however convincing their story — this is never a genuine part of dating on our platform.
  • Use reverse image searches if a profile photo feels too polished, and trust your instincts if something doesn't add up.

Arranging the first meeting

  • Choose a public place for your first meeting — a café, restaurant or somewhere else with other people around.
  • Tell a friend or family member where you're going, who you're meeting, and roughly when you expect to be back.
  • Arrange your own way there and back rather than being collected from home, at least until you know someone well.

During and after

  • Keep your phone charged and with you, and check in with someone once you're safely home.
  • You're never obliged to share your home address, workplace or financial details with a match.
  • If anything about the meeting feels wrong, it's always fine to leave.
